Ashtavinayaks Sanjay-Vivek starrer goes on floor (05:03 PM May 16th)
Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision's untitled next directed by Soham Shah and starring Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi, Humaima Mallick (of Bol fame) and Paresh Rawal has commenced shoot in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The movie is based on the Gujarat underworld and will be shot on a start-to-finish 50 days schedule in Jaipur where huge set has been put up for the mammoth big-budget venture. Apart from this schedule the songs in the movie will be shot in Mumbai.
The film is slated for release in December, 2012.
Ila Arun dubs for Arjun-The Warrior Prince (04:49 PM May 16th)
Ila Arun and KK Raina's theatre troupe, Surnai have done the voice overs for UTV Motion Pictures animated mythological action film Arjun-The Warrior Prince.
The theatre group did a two month workshop with director Arnab Chaudhuri and staged the film as a play with 30 to 40 voice over artists acting out their parts which were recorded on a sound stage.
While Ila has dubbed for Arjun's mother Kunti, Vishnu Sharma has done the voice over for Bhishma Pitamah's part.
Arjun-The Warrior Prince is based on the mythological character Arjun from Mahabharat. The film follows the journey of a nine year old Arjun and his transformation into a renowned warrior and will release on May 25.
Vishesh Bhatt turns director (04:09 PM May 16th)
Producer Mukesh Bhatt's son, Vishesh Bhatt is all set to take over his father's banner, named after him. Vishesh is now ready to direct his first film.
Vishesh, who is currently scripting his debut directorial venture, has signed Randeep Hooda to play the lead of the film.
Vishesh had earlier written the story and screenplay for Jannat.
Kainaz to play chauffeur in Challo Driver (03:44 PM May 16th)
After an impressive act in the spook fest Ragini MMS, Kainaz Motivala is now ready with her next film titled Challo Driver.
The film has Kainaz playing the role of a small town girl who ends up becoming a female chauffeur in the city. The film is directed by debutant Vikrant Mahajan and produced by Orange Canvas Films.
Challo Driver is currently in post production and is expected to release by the end of this year.
Prakash Raj arrives 3 hours late for Salmans shoot (03:07 PM May 16th)
Normally it is Salman Khan who makes the crew wait for his late arrival. But this time it was the villain of Salman starrer Dabangg 2, Prakash Raj, who reported 3 hours late for the shoot. Reason, he had a party to attend the previous night.
A source revealed, "May 3 was the first day shoot of the second schedule of Dabangg 2 in Mazgaon at St Mary School. The call time was 9 am and Prakash Raj came in at 12 pm. Luckily, he didn't have any scene with Salman Khan, or else Sallu would have to wait. Salman's call time was 2 pm."
The source continues, "Since Prakash is not from Mumbai, he resides at his sister's house in Malad, and a car from the production team was sent to fetch him. Till he arrived the entire unit killed their time in playing cricket. Director Arbaaz Khan was surprisingly not upset."
"As soon as Prakash Raj arrived he apologized for being late and told them that he was celebrating his sister's anniversary party the previous night. Arbaaz was all ok with it, and Raj was ready within 15 minutes for his scene. Luckily, there was no delay caused for Sallu's shoot time," added the source.
Salman Khan to endorse Relaxo Footwear (02:58 PM May 16th)
Salman Khan maybe busy with his back to back film shoots, but the star also has quite a few brand endorsement deals falling in his kitty.
We had recently reported that Akshay has been roped in to be the brand ambassador of Relaxo Footwear. As per Bollywood Hungama's reliable sources, the latest buzz is that Salman has also been signed up to be the brand ambassador of Relaxo Footwear.
The official confirmation of the same is being awaited.
Ash to help raise funds for fight against AIDS (01:25 PM May 16th)
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be gracing the Cannes Red Carpet for the 11th consecutive year as the brand ambassador of L'Oreal Paris. She will be walking the red carpet of the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival on the 24th & 25th of May.
Ash will also attend the L'Oreal Paris - amfAR (The American Foundation for AIDS Research) dinner and after-party on the May 24.
Founded in 1946, the Cannes Film Festival is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious film festivals and L'Oréal Paris has been the official make-up artist of the festival for 15 years. The amfAR event co-sponsored by L'Oreal Paris aims at raising money to fight AIDS. It is one of the world's leading non-profit organizations dedicated to the support AIDS research, HIV Prevention, Treatment education, and the advocacy of sound AIDS related public policy.
Ash will also take her daughter along with her. Aishwarya says, "11 glorious years....the journey so far has been remarkable and truly memorable. This year, I am especially privileged as I also get to lend my support to a very important cause at the amfAR dinner, by helping raise funds for the fight against AIDS, at the AMFAR auction."
"It makes me proud that L'Oreal Paris sponsors and supports our fight against AIDS through this special amfAR event at Cannes." she added.

Poonam Pandey confirmed for Amit Saxenas next (01:17 PM May 16th)
After a round of speculation, it's now confirmed that model Poonam Pandey will finally be making her big screen debut in Amit Saxena's film.
Amit Saxena, who earlier directed Jism, was tight-lipped about signing Poonam but has now confirmed the same. The film will feature Poonam in her sexy avatar.
The rest of the cast is yet to be finalized.
Big B in Mahesh Manjrekars Natsamrat (01:06 PM May 16th)
After having done everything from acting, hosting, singing, dancing etc..., he will now be seen doing his first ever screen adaptation of the V.V. Shirwadkar's Marathi literary masterpiece Natsamrat, wherein he will be seen playing the role of an aging Shakespearean actor.
News reports have it that, Mahesh Manjrekar (who had been scripting the screen adaptation of the said play for almost a year) took the screenplay to Big B for his approval late last week. Speaking about this project, Mahesh said that when Amitabh read the script of Natsamrat, the protagonist's character simply swept him off his feet, since this was the kind of challenge that he had been looking for at this stage of his career.
And when asked if there were any similarities between his role in Natsamrat as compared to the one that he had portrayed in Rituparno Ghosh's The Last Lear (wherein he played an aging Shakespearean actor), Mahesh was quick to reply that he saw Rituparno's film to make sure there are no similarities between both the films. He also added that Big B's role in Natsamrat is completely different from The Last Lear. In his film, Big B plays a fading stage actor who forgets the difference between real life and the Shakespearean characters he plays.
Buzz is that the shooting of Natsamrat will begin in the next couple of months, soon after Big B returns from a medical check up abroad.

Item girl Rakhi Sawant's father Anand Sawant passed away yesterday. Anand was a policeman and had been unwell for a while. The last rites were held at Oshiwara crematorium yesterday.
